Real Madrid’s Rodrygo set to sign lucrative new long-term contract until 2028:
Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes is reportedly on the verge of signing a lucrative new long-term contract with the club. According to multiple reports, the talented 22-year-old Brazilian is set to put pen to paper on Thursday on a new deal that will extend his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu until June 2028.
This development was first announced by reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano earlier this week. Romano claimed that an agreement had already been reached between Rodrygo and Real Madrid over a new long-term deal for the player. This comes just days after fellow Brazilian and Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. also signed a new contract extension with the club through 2027.

Rodrygo originally joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 from Brazilian side Santos, where he came up through the youth academy. Still only 22, he has already made over 175 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring 39 goals. During his time with the club so far, he has won a La Liga title, two Champions League trophies and other honors.
Real Madrid clearly see Rodrygo as a key part of their squad both now and for the future. Despite not yet fully establishing himself as an undisputed starter, the club has shown enormous faith in the young forward’s abilities by offering him a new long-term deal. Rodrygo has reciprocated this faith by agreeing to extend his stay in the Spanish capital until 2028.
The new contract will make him one of the highest-paid young players at the club. According to reports, his new deal will also include an eye-watering €1 billion release clause. This astronomical fee reflects Rodrygo’s world-class potential and importance to Real Madrid going forward.
While Rodrygo has endured an up-and-down start to the new season, Real Madrid remain convinced the Brazilian wonderkid still has his best years ahead of him. The deal is set to be formally announced on Thursday once all the details are finalized. Rodrygo will now be expected to reward the club’s faith by establishing himself as a fixture in the Real Madrid starting eleven for years to come.
